Much had been said abt. Gloria Arroyo becoming the Prime Minister once she got elected as Congresswoman and once our Constitution had been changed.
Do we really believe that whoever got elected as the new President will allow Gloria to run the government as Prime Minister? After spending Billions of Pesos in their respective campaigns , I have no doubt that the incoming President will also cling to the position as hard as they can. For sure some of the candidates if not all, will for sure re-coup any expenses that they spend during the election.
Secondly, with majority of the Trapos are in the Congress, comes election time only a handful of Gloria loyalist will be left. This early a lot of the Congressman had already switched party (loyalty?)... Opppsss...I can't say that word ...sorry,,,, party loyalty is not part of Philippine politics....hehehe...
So I believe that the main reason GMA decided to run for Congress is for protection from lawsuits. For all we know Congress takes care of their members....that is why Congress is the worst branch of our government. Trapos and corrupt officials abound in this branch of government.

PHILIPPINE POLITICS : Why 2-Party System is better than the current multi-party system.
It's been a long time since our Constituion was changed. Part of the change was the scrapping of the old 2-party system and changing it to Multi-Party system.
Since that time I noticed that every election a lot of confusion and chaos happens among the voting population. With so many Parties participating in the elections and hundreds of candidates in the national level then add add up the other hundred candidates for the local level and also the party-list groups, it will be a miracle if you don't end with a headache after voting.
I believe that the current system, worsens our problem with traditional politicians as most of them became political butterflies. Because of the different parties that are available they can easily switched sides when their political agenda are not being met by the party.
During the time of Marcos, there was only 2 major Party, the Nacionalista and the Liberal. One is the administration party and the other one the opposition. Changing parties are not common.
I think it is time to go back to 2 party system if want a real change to happen in our country. The TRAPOS are running our country to the ground. They are everywhere in the Congress, Senate and in the local gov't. Let's get rid of them. Let's go back to the old system.

LUIS VILLAFUERTE SR......THE ULTIMATE TRAPO....
Congressman Luis Villafurte Sr. had been in politics for a long time. I cannot recall how many times he switched parties just to advance his own agenda.
Do you remember that while Albay was still reeling from the lahar Mudslides from a typhoon, Congressman Louie and another Bicol Congressman Edcel Lagman was busy trying to change our Constitution. It did backfired on them because their agenda went nowhere. But imagine a lot of Albayanos lost their lives and properties and here 2 Bicolano Congressman busy with their own agenda instead of trying to use their position and power to help their fellow Bicolanos.
I'm glad that finally Luis Sr. made a poltical blunder that caused him to lose good standing in the party that he helped strengthen, KAMPI-LAKAS. However, recently, he emerged from political obscurity by smoking a peace pipe with his son Gov. L-Ray. He is now aligned himself with NPC and Nacionalista Party.
Currently, he is spending a lot of time badmouthing his erstwhile allies with LAKAS-KAMPI. These are the same allies that were loyal to him until after they decided not to go along with in aligning with Gov. L-ray Villafuerte. Now because they did not follow Luis Villafuerte Sr., Villafuerte Sr. is hellbent in going after them.
I hope the 2nd district voters will decided not to re-elect him as their Congressman. The rumor is next next election Villafuerte Sr. will again run for Governor. Tsk, tsk,tsk

MANNY VILLAR BETTER THAN OBAMA?
I'm not sure what Manny Villar is thinking when he confidently stated that he is better than President Obama. Sure, he became Speaker of the Lower House and Senate President but does it really mean that he is better than OBama?
When he was the Speaker of the House his most memorable achievement was when he passed the impeachment complaint against ERAP . However, I can't really think of anything major that he accomplished as Speaker of the House. Except for the fact that at least minute he decided to go against ERAP, House of representative was always known as the rubberstamp of ERAP. It was composed of mostly traditional politicians (TRAPOS), that do what the sitting President tells them. He was I believe was elected Speaker of the House because of his Billions- the glare of money enticed all the TRAPOS to elect him. That's my opinion.
As Senate president, I cannot recall of any major achievement that he accomplished. Most of the Senate hearings are conducted but without no end result like ZTE scandal....etc...he was ousted as Senate President after Senator Jamby Madrigal accused him of being involved in the C-5 road mess. I do believe that there is TRUTH in that accusation. He did gained from that C-5 controversy.
Now, he is telling us that he is better that OBAMA!!! If he is , how come he is scared to attend the SEnate hearing regarding the C-5 controversy or how about attending the Harapan Debate? President Obama love town hall meetings, debates but how come Villar is scared of it? Are you scared to be asked abt. the C-5 mess ?
I used to like Senator Villar but lately everytime he opens his mouth, ARROGANCE comes out of his mouth. How can we trust him with the highest position in the land when he is so arrogant.
Does anyone believe that he is willing to spend Billions of pesos of his OWN money just to serve the people for 6 years?.....Does anyone believe that he will never try to recoup the money once elected ? As a senator he used his office to profit from the C-5 road, how much more when he becomes a president.

RICHARD GORDON-BAYANI FERNANDO FOR 2010
About 4 months ago I broached the idea of an ideal tandem for the 2010 Presidential Elections, the Gordon-Fernando tandem. Yesterday, that idea materialized as both of them decided to pair up and aspire for the unthinkable.
I know they know that it will be an uphill battle for them to win the election. They have to double-up or triple up their efforts in their campaign. Without talking about the viability of their campaign, I think nobody can doubt that they are very capable and deserving candidates. In fact I'll go farther in saying that I believe they are the most capable candidate to become the President and Vice-President of the Philippines.
Nobody can't deny the fact that they did an excellent job as a government officials. From being City mayor, SBMA Chairman, Tourism secretary and Senator (for Gordon) and Marikina and MMDA Chairman for Bayani Fernando, they've proven that they are an excellent ADministrator and they have political will to implement what is best for the Country.
For now, I have to wait and see on who among these Presidentiables will finally win my one and very important vote. It's a toss-up between Noynoy and Gordon.

ChiZ Escudero decided not to run in 2010.......Good Choice...
I am happy to hear that Chiz will not be running for any elected position comes 2010. I think for now, continuing his excellent job as a senator will prime him for a Presidential run in 2016.
I hope he will decide to align himself with Noynoy Aquino instead of Villar and Estrada. I know he will be welcomed with an open arms by the Liberal party.
It's kind'a sad that he is not running for President but that's the fact of politics in the Philippines. Danding Cojuanco his political patron had abandoned (not providing enough campaign funds.) him so, the only wise decision for him is to abandon his political party.
For now I believe it is too late for him to mount a Presidential nor a Vice-Presidential campaign so it is good to hear that he decided not to run at all..

CHIZ ESCUDERO BOLTED NPC
Yesterday, Chiz Escudero bolted his potical party for 11 years , the NPC. His move was deemed as political suicide in terms of his ambition to become the President of the Philippines. We have to admit that to become a President you need a political machinery that will carry your message down to the lowest level of the government.
On the other hand, it might be good for him since, he advocated against graft and corruption in the government. He aligned himself with the opposition eventhough his own party are aligned with the current corrupt government. With Danding Conjuangco as the Chairman Emeritus of NPC, he will not be able to fully convey his messages against Graft and Corruption since Danding for all we know had been involved with the corrupt government of Marcos.
What's next for him? Although I really want him to run as President it is almost impossible for him to do so without a party and without MONEY. He needs at least 1-2 billion pesos to mount a credible campaign. The most viable option for him is to run for vice-President either with Manny Villar or Gilbert Teodoro. But that will also will run contrary to what he said in the past that he can't run with Villar become of the controversy Villar is involved with (C-5 controversy). With Teodoro it is very highly unlikely that he will associate with the current administration that he opposed since he was a congressman. I have a feeling that he might run with either Richard Gordon or Bayani Fernando. If I have to chose I might go with Richard Gordon since he has a good track record.
Reality-wise he might just finish his term as a senator and run in the next Presidential election. Abangan ang susunod na kabanata!!!
Whatever you decide chiz, me and my family will always support you!!!

BAAO NEEDS A LEADER..........BADLY....
Since the election of the current Mayor Jun Bongcayao, Baao again got stuck in the mud. There was no progress at all that can be seen and talked about. The Mayor had always been criticized for his non-performance especially during the time of calamities.
I wish the former Mayor Mel I. Gaite will run for Mayor again but it seems he already lost the urge to lead Baao again. He seems to be contented in running his family business and spend most of his time with his family. Good for him. Hopefully he will change his mind.
If indeed the former mayor does not run, Baao desperately need a new leader. New means new and that does not mean Mayor Bongcayao's son. We need a new face in Baao politics.

ERAP FOR PRESIDENT.............WHAT THE HELL!!!
If you happened to watch Erap "Jose Velarde" Estrada's supposedly Proclamation rally last night, I'm sure you felt dumbfounded. Why in the world a convicted plunderer be allowed to run in the presidential election. Several provisions of the constitution were clearly violated by his pronouncement of running for re-election(?), but that's a different subject that the Supreme Court has to tackle.
During his speech he railed against her plunderer successor Gloria Arroyo who he rightly accused of also being corrupt and ineffecient leader. Tama talaga ang kasabihang "ang magnanakaw galit sa kapwa magnanakaw." He sweared that he never stole any single centavo from the peoples money!!!!...Common, now he was clearly attempting to deceive the public again!!!...You are a convicted criminal that got lucky because of the presidential pardon extended by Arroyo!!! Napaka-walanghiya talaga and ang kapal ng mukha ni Erap!!! Nakakasuka ang mga sinabi niya sa speech!!!!
Anyway, if ever he does not win his case with the Supreme Court, I know he will align with somebody else to gain poltical clout. But if ever the Supreme Court allows him to run then it will be up to US the voters to decide if we want him back....God Bless US or maybe God Save Us if he wins.....

THANK YOU AMERICA.......FROM BAYAN, BAYAN MUNA, GABRIELA.....ETC...
I can't help to wonder when are the militant leftist groups in the Philippines will ever utter those words,....Thank You America. Everytime I see them, they are lambasting the U.S and their soldiers. Sometimes I agree with them but sometimes I don't. You see it is our right to be patriotic and nationalistic but sometimes we also have to be practical.
For such a long time, Americans are always on our side even when they left after their military bases were closed. Thousands of American blood spilled for the sake of our country. Billions of dollars were provided to us . But I am not asking the militants to say thank you for this. Not at all.
All I want is the militants to acknowledge the help Americans provide during the time of need. They are always the first one on our side whenever a tragedy or calamity befell in our country. True friends are found in the time of dire needs. How come the militants only focuses on the negative side but never metion the positive things that they've done. Is it hard to say "Thank you, Uncle Sam for your help".

ENOUGH JOEY DE LEON!!!
I'm not taking sides in still on-going feud between Joey De Leon and Willie Revillame. Actually I think Joey is the only one who had been making provocative statements which are pointed to Willie.
I think Joey is very jealous of Willie because of his immense fame and wealth which he earned from his show Wowoweee. Aminin Joey, selos ka kay Willie!!!....I do admit though, I like eat Bulaga than Wowowee....I like Kahit Sino Pwede and Pinoy Henyo.....
I was a little ticked off when I watched Joey de Leon make a swipe at Willie and ABS- CBN during the flooding in Metro Manila.
He castigated Willie (although not saying Willie's name), for mentioning the amount of money he is donating. Well, you know all donations are optional....Optional kung gusto mong ma-mention ang name mo o hindi. At the same time optional din kung dapat sabihin kung ano ang idi-nonate mo...As long as bukal sa loob yung pag-donate mo, dapat hwag na nating bigyan ng malisya. Kasi I'm sure whatever amount of money someones donates, eh hard earned yun.
Kaya pareng Joey, huwag ka ng masyadong seloso kasi you are being typical of SOME Filipinos. Kung sinong umaangat, Pinoy din ang pilit humahatak pababa, dahil sa selos!!!!

Philippine Congress are full of stupid , corrupt traditional politicians.
I just finished reading from the Philippines Star about the move of some Congressman esp. Congressman Victor Ortega to revive CHA_CHA eventhough the country is trying to recover from the wrath of Ondoy and Pepeng. They plan to spend 2 Billion Pesos for the Cha-Cha next year. Are they stupid or not? They are idiots!!!imbeciles!!!!
Why can't they pool their resources and try to help the whole nation recover from the tragedy. The money that they want to spend can be spent wisely by helping each cities and provinces affected by the typhoon. If they can contribute P3 million pesos each from their pork barrels that will add up to at least P750 million pesos of immediate money to rehabilitate the roads and bridges that needed repair.
But as one of the most corrupt branch of government, Congress is too stupid to even attempt to clear their image by doing the right thing. All that matter is they can cling to their positions so they can get their SOP's. Shame, Shame on your Mr. Congressmen. I wish they typhoon swept the Congress while they are in session and ONLY those deserving to live survived!!!

CHIZ ESCUDERO FOR PRESIDENT
After months of indecision on who to vote for in the 2010 presidential elections I finally come into conclusion that I have to support Chiz Escudero. It is not because he is a fellow Bicolano but because I think he is intellectually, morally capable of being the president of our great country. It was a hard choice for me because Chiz Escudero and Noynoy are my choice. However, I come to realize that Noynoy is only running basing on the popularity of his late mom. Noynoy hasn't done done much in the congress and in the Senate so why make him a President when we have somebody who excelled in both houses, in the person of Chiz.
So I am hoping that younger generation and all fellow Bicolanos to vote as one . Let's all vote for Chiz Escudero for President.

CHIZ ESCUDERO VS. NOYNOY AQUINO FOR PRESIDENT
With the current crop of politicians gunning for the 2010 presidential election, only chiz escudero and noynoy aquino are the most capable of getting my precious one vote.
One of the criteria that I look for in a presidential candidates is honesty, integrity, capability and of course should not be a traditional politician (TRAPO).
Erap is a TRAPO and does not have any integrity, honesty and capability to be a president so he is automatically out.
Senator Villar has the capability to become a President with his political experience as the former Speaker of the House and Senate President. He also have a massive wealth that can finance his candidacy. But I do think that, that he does have culpability in the C-5 road mess. In my opinion, he did used his position for personal gain. In his case, because of the C-5 road mess, his privately owned land value skyrocketed, and that to me is an indirect corruption. But that is only my own opinion. The mess forever tainted his political career.
Bayani Fernando- I salute him for having the political will to do what is best for the country. He is doing a great job as a MMDA chairman. However, I think he will be great if he stays as MMDA chairman than running for Presidency. I don't think he has enough Intelligence to be a president. I was so frustrated and embarassed when I saw him in the tv trying to answer a question during the LAKAS-KAMPI convention.
Richard Gordon- also can be a great president. He possess almost everything needed to be a Presiden except winnability. He doesn't have the money and the political machinery to mount a nationwide campaign for presidency. So I don't want to waste my only vote for him.
Gibo Teodoro- he is the political protegee of GMA. If he succeeds he will do his best to protect GMA and his abusive family. So why vote for him.
NoyNoy Aquino- Has integrity, honesty and capability. We all know that the Aquino family wasn't involved in any controversy involving graft and corruption during Pres. Cory's tenure as the President of the Nation. Unlike the succeeding Presidents, the Aquino siblings except for Kris Aquino stayed out of the limelight and stayed out of transacting business with the government. The only stain in their name is the Hacienda Luisita mess. As a President they should had been the model on how the Genuine Agrarian Reform Program was implemented, by giving part of their land to eligible tenants. Lives had been lost because of the mess.
Chiz Escudero- Also has all the qualities of being a good president. He is very fluent , articulate and knowledgeable. I believe Philippines will be better off with him as the President besides, being a Bicolano, I have to vote for him ....

BEST BBQ PORK RIBS EVER....
I tried several ways of Barbeque-ing, pork ribs before but this is the one recipe that got some good reviews from my biased customers (family and friends).
1) wash pork ribs
2) pat dry with paper towel
3) apply a little olive oil (using paper towel soaked olive oil)
4)dry rub pork ribs with your favorite seasonings....mine is Pappy's barbeque seasoning
5)cover dry rubbed pork ribs with golden brown sugar (liberal amount) to trap the moisture and aroma from dry rub
6) set over to 400 degrees
7) place pork ribs in flat tray fror broiling.
8) add at least 3/4 cup of water in the tray and cover with aluminum foil
9) broil for at least 1 1/2 hours
10 bring out from oven then barbeque for 10 minutes for charred look and taste
11) baste with your favorite barbeque sauce
12) pork rib should be really soft and tender and tasty.

SHAME ON YOU SPEAKER NOGRALES!!!!!
A couple of days ago a congressman came up with a noble idea of asking each of the more that 200 congressmen to donate P1 million pesos each out of their pork barrel. That proposal was quickly shot down by no less than the Speaker of the House Nograles.
Why? Maybe because they will be using their pork barrel for the next election!!!!....Don't they realize that a lot of people badly needs help and that P200 million from the congressmans pork barrel will be a very big help.
Talagang mga ganid, sakim, tanga at kurakot ang karamihan sa mga congressman natin!!!!! Mga trapo!!!! We should make sure na alisin na natin ang mga trapo sa gobyerno saka mga balimbing!!!! tulad ni Enrile at Santiago. hehehe....Senator santiago is actually a bright senator kaya lang para siyang si Einstein na may tupak....hehehe...we don't need her in the government unless we want to watch a circus in the senate. But I do admit that I enjoy watching her throw a tantrum and exhibit signs and symptoms of her Bipolar disorder...hehehe

TYPHOON ONDOY....WHAT IT MEANS TO GILBERT TEODORO'S PRESIDENTIAL PLAN.........
The Philippines had a suffered probably the worst calamity ever. Hundreds of thousands of Filipinos are greatly affected by it, either by losing their homes and prized possessions or losing their loved ones. The actual number of fatalities probably will never be known, but it is estimated that about 500 people are dead.
There is never any doubt that the Filipinos will overcome this tragedy. We are known for being a hardworking and resilient people. The bayanihan spirit always persists. Watching tv footages about Filipinos helping others, makes me very proud being a Filipino.
We all know that Gilbert Teodoro is the Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Center, he is also a candidate of Lakas-Kampi for President in the forthcoming 2010 elections. The disaster brought by typhoon Ondoy is probably a litmus test for Teodoro's capability to lead the nation. This will be the preview on how he will manage the country if he wins. However, this early , he is failing miserably. It's been few days now after the tragedy but there is still a lot of people in need that are not getting any help from the government. That means to say that no matter what the gov't is saying, they have no concrete disaster planning program in place.
Without the private citizens help, there is no way that the filipinos that were affected by the typhoon will all get the badly needed help from the government.
To my fellow Filipinos, don't lose hope . We will overcome this tragedy with or without the gov't's help.

PACQUIAO - COTTO .....FIGHT OF THE YEAR!!!
Forget about the Mayweather vs. Marquez fight this coming Saturday (Sept. 19), if you are looking for a lively, full of action fight . This fight is predicted to be just like that, a long, boring fight with each fighter looking for each other to attack first. But how can it be an exciting fight if both fighters are counterpunchers and nobody wants to attack first....Hehehe...There's no way that I am gonna pay for a PPV for this fight. I might watch live though at justin tv where you can watch it for free!!!! Sorry Floyd, I will never let you touch my hard earned money!!!
With the Pacquiao-Cotto fight fast approaching, it is starting to show promise of a really great fight. The betting line is massively in favor of Pacquiao. Freddie Roach is predicitng a full 12 rounds of action with no knockout. But who know, nobody can tell with the way our Pacman fights. He always fight to the end, I'm sure he will always make us proud.
With Sonsona's victory and Mayols loss, Pacquiao's win will give the Philippines a 2-1 lead against Puerto Rico!!!! Yeheyyyyy!!!

GILBERT TEODORO FOR PRESIDENT---- VOTE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
2 days ago the mostly trapos of Philippine politics elected Gilbert Teodoro to be Lakas-Kampi official candidate for President in 2010 elections. Composed mostly of congressmen that claims to represent their constituents, they almost unanimously voted for Teodoro, a political butterfly, over their ever-loyal Lakas-NUCD member Bayani Fernando.
The whole process is a moro-moro since a day before about 90 of the congressman (most of them are voting members of the executive committee), showed up in a breakfast meeting to express their support to Teodoro.
Although with the current political climate, it does not matter if it is Teodoro or Fernando or even if you combine them together they have a very slim or no chance of winning the presidency given the extreme unpopularity of the current President whom they avidly support. According to Teodoro, if elected as President HE WILL CONTINUE Mrs. Arroyos Programs and will not try to investigate or lest, prosecute the Arroyos for any laws that the family had broken. He also stated that he will empower the Filipinos and provide social justice!!!.
That alone is BUllshit!!!....How can you provide social justice when you are tolerating massive excesses in the government that he is serving. The money that the Arroyo's had stolen from the people could have been used to provide basic services to the Filipino people. What happened to ZTE deal, the supposed computerization of all schools, and all the controversies involving Mike, Mikey and Dato Arroyo.
To be a President you need political will . If elected rest assured , Gibo Teodoro will protect the Arroyos, the excesses of the corrupt traditonal polticians especially the Congressmen. He will be a lameduck, puppet President of the Arroyos.
God Save the Philippines. Don't vote for a Puppet.

ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES....ERAP FOR PRESIDENT 2010
Only in the Philippines:
1) An elected, convicted and pardoned former President have the guts to run for (re) election for President . Despite the fact that Constitution bar him from running, he is still very determined to run (although he says that he is only 99.9% sure of running). It is very likely that millions of Filipinos will still vote for him. And who knows he might win it all. Hopefully, our respected Supreme Court Justices will put a stop on this craziness. Come on Pres. Erap Estrada, kung meron ka pang natitirang respeto sa sarili mo, or you really love our country that you helped destroy and plunder, huwag ka ng tumakbo. You should be thankful that you were pardoned and now out of jail. Spend the remaining years of your colorful and not so colorful life out of politics.
Nakakahiya sa ibang bansa, na ang isang kriminal na dating presidente ay muling tatakbo at baka manalo sa pagka-presidente. We all know that until now you still enjoy wide support from the masses because of your slogan "Erap para sa Mahirap. But pls. don't exploit them. Our court system already judged you as a corrupt leader and as a result thrown to jail or a resort :). How can we expect that you will be a better president when your credibility is zero.
I appeal to all Filipinos to pls. think wisely when choosing a leader. "Ang kwarta sa bulsa ang boto sa balota". Don't be fooled by politicians that claims that they are pro-poor when in fact they are just trying to exploit and fool you so they can secure your vote. Most of these candidates were born in a silver platter, they never experienced how is it to be poor. I don't blame them for being born to rich families BUT pls. don't exploit us ...the Poor People of the Philippines.

ABS-CBN VS. GMA-7
The heated and intense rivalry of the two giant networks resonates not only in the business world but also at home. Most of my favorite shows and stars are in Channel 2 while my wife's favorites are in GMA-7. We always tease each other whenever the new tv ratings comes out and our show or our networks comes out on top. With these intense rivalry between these 2 networks the wuinners will always be US the viewers.
She agrees with me that the biggest stars in showbiz can be found in ABS-CBN , however she claims that biggest Star in the showbiz world can be found in GMA-7, which is Marian Rivera. She might be partly rightly since if you look at the ratings most of Marian Riveras shows are almost always on top except "Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa aking Tadyang". And frankly speaking I do want to watch Marian with her Darna costume....hehehe....."DARNA!!!!!"....
I do hope ABS-CBN will come up with something with Angel Locsin, Angelica Panganiban and Shaina Magdayao at the same time with costumes like Darna.....I'm sure they will beat the crap out of Darna.
For the meantime though, I have to switch my loyalty to Darna!!!, while ABS-CBN is still figuring out how to beat GMA-7's Darna.

RICHARD GORDON-BAYANI FERNANDO 2010?
I am sure that a lot of people will laugh at me for bringing up this tandem. I know that this tandem will never happen and will never win in the 2010 presidential election. So you ask, why bring up the issue then.
I believe that in terms of experience and political will, this 2 gentleman politicians pretty much possesses both qualities . Senator Gordon had always been a good public servant. From the time he was the Mayor of Olongapo , the SBMA chairman , Tourism secretary and now a senator. He always performed above peoples expectations. Olongapo remains progressive even after U.S bases was removed. Subic bay became a investment mecca in Southeast Asia.
Bayani Fernando- I admire the guy. He has the political will to advance whatever is necessary to improve the lives of every Filipinos. We never had anybody that has the guts to clean up Manila with squatters. Other politicians are scared because they know that this squatters are also voters and they need votes so they can continue to cling on their respective posts. Manila became a lot cleaner and more orderly since Bayani Fernando became the MMDA chairman.
These 2 politicians is what the Philippines needed. HOwever, since I don't think they have any chance of winning, I will vote on somebody else that I thinks is closest these 2 gentlemans credentials.

WANTED: PERFECT CONGRESSMAN!!!
I know this is a wishful thinking but with the current crop of candidates for Congressman in the 4th District of Camarines Sur, I can't help but to wish for the star. Let me introduce the 4 current candidates:
1) Manny Alfelor---- former Mayor of Iriga.....hasn't really accomplished anything during his tenure....except for the highly questionable projects (road concreting that breaks apart when it rains- supposedly cpnstructed by his own dummy construction company). Whatever happened to the Agranan ni Agang or the Gondola? I heard Iriguenos from abroad contributed to the project....what happened to their contribution?
2) Sal Fortuno-- current vice-Governor of Camarines and former Congressman. Same as ex- Mayor Alfelor, he has not accomplished much.
3) Jay Dimaiwat--- a neophyte in politics. I guess a successful manager of Nestle Phil. I read his blogs in Nabua forum, I guess he is a little bit hot/quick-tempered guy and a little onion skinned. Hopefully his intentions are for the improvement of quality of life of people in the 4th District of Camarines Sur.
4) Mariano "Anoy" Trinidad--- perennial candidate. Former Vice-Governor. He is a qualified candidate however he is one of those that you can call nuissance candidates. He adds up color and humor during the election period.
So who would you vote for Congressman in the 4th District? It is a gonna be a hard choice!!!
I don't see anyone of them to have the quality of a Perfect Congressman or Perfect Public servant. I guess you have to choose the lesser evil.....

NABUA........the most congested/disorganized municipality in Camarines Sur?
Everytime I passes by Nabua, I get irritated by the undue delay of my commute because of the traffic in its town proper. If you are going to Baao and you have to pass by the Diversion Road, expect to be delayed by few minutes because of the traffic caused by the throngs of people walking almost in the middle of the road. I can't blame those people because where else can they walk? The sides of the road are occupied by the countless trimobiles !!!. It's gonna be interesting once LCC gets built.....Right now I can say, maybe Nabua just overtaken Pili as the town that has the most unorganized/congested road in Camarines Sur.......

EMERALD GROTTO
Nag-kakapirang beses kada aldow, nag-lalabos ako sa atubangan kana Grotto, everytime, diri ko mapugolan ana sadiri ko na mag-hinayang ta nauda na su dating gayon ko kanatung City landmark. Dati kaya pag nag-istambay ika sadto City Park, mabayod mo su kagayunan ko Grotto from the first steps of the stairway up to the top... La bagang gayon na mabayad mo su Grotto with its criss-crossing stairway, very picturesque. But now, it's sad to say that our City landmark has to give way to what some people say "signs of Progress".
Para sa diri pa nakaka-isi, agko na pinag-tugrok na Convention Hall infront of the Grotto and if your passing by the only part that you can see from the highway is about 1/4 of the stairway (from the top) and the grotto itself. Sure one can argue that the grotto together with Hotel Ibalon and Emerald Shopping Complex (former names, I don't know their new names now), are a private property now owned by Atty. Ortega. According to some people, since it's a private property, Atty. Ortega can do whatever he want to the property. I do applaud Atty. Ortega for investing his precious money para mapagayon pa lalo ana Iriga and show that Iriga is now a progressive city. Kaya lang, I wish, he didn't built the convention hall infront of the Grotto. It's one if not the ONLY landmark of Iriga City. It is sad that the Grotto has to give way for the sake of Progress...........

BASKETBOL SA IRIGA, KADTO SAKA NGOWAN
Ku kapanahunan ko, nag-boro basketball man akong gatingay. Mala kadtong muya ta kadakul ko para-sponsor sa basketball lalo na pag summer. Kin minsan ngani ana usad na gab-i darwang liga ana pinag-ngangayamnan namo. Kada fiesta kana usad na baryo, pirmi ng agko inter-baranngay o kaya inter-league basketball tournament. Dawa ngani kin minsan oda kami uniform ta oda manager. Ana pig-gibo namo pinag-susuratan sana namo sa number so puting bado. I had a lot of fun reminiscing those memorable moments. Ahhhh, if I could only go back in time, I want to be young and active again. It makes me sad and depressed looking at myself - overweight, gray hairs, gout-stricken.
Now to a more serious note. Eventhough I haven't played basketball for a long time, it makes me feel sad and frustrated that it seems Basketball is at standstill in Iriga. There's not a lot of exceptional players that are coming out from the new breed of players. We used to have the Magistrado brothers (Jojo and Oboy), Otab...etc. (I can't remember most of them). If we take a closer look and evaluate why not a lot of Irigueno players are excelling in basketball we might point our fingers to the BAP or is it bnow SBP?. Anyway, I believe that Basketball Association of the Philippines are responsible for the dimished skills of Basketball players in Iriga. Why?. Not a lot of leagues and tournaments are being held because of the cost of referees. As you know BAP are responsible for training and providing referees to most leagues/tournaments. Each referee cost about P300-400/per game. Now I heard they use 3 referees in a game, that means each game will cost you P900-1200/game. And that is not all you also have to pay BAP for the scorer and timekeeper which will bring your bill to about P1,800/game. In a regular league, there are at least 4 games /night. Multiply it with P1,800, that is equal toP7,200.00/night. And again that is not all!!! You have to provide them with food/snacks and after game beer.
In a regular tournament with for example 7 teams (only 1 division), it will cost you at P100,000. plus you also have to buy trophies and cash prizes. The cost of holding tournaments prevent private persons to sponsor Basketball tournaments. Now, because of this tournaments are only held during fiestas and a Iriga City government sponsored tournaments in summer.
From what I am heard, Any Sanggguniang Kabataan in any Baranngay cannot sponsor any Basketball tournament if they don't let BAP officiate it. Meaning they cannot hire non-BAP member referees which cost about half of what BAP charges (P200/game), to officiate the tournament. You know what will happen if SK insists on not hiring BAP referees?....BAP will notify DILG and in turn DILG won't release the funds to the SK.
That is how powerful BAP became, they now have the power to ask /tell DILG not to release trhe funds to SK even for a legitimate government program using government money. Ana una ko ana gov't nag-ta-transact business with people that can provide the best value of the peoples money in terms of the project. Di ko isi if I making any sense right now, pagal na kaya ako.
Hopefully this policy will change para mas dakol ana mag-sponsor sa mga tournaments sa iriga, para ma-engganyo ana mga jovenes na mag-involve lalo sa sports. This will prevent them from getting hooked to drugs and any other harmful vices.

USANT VS. UNEP
The question about who is the best school in Iriga City had been debated for such a long time. I might be accused of being biased here since I graduated in USANT. However, I am not really sure of which one is better. All I know is both of them produced a lot of professionals that are recognized here and abroad. They can compete with any graduates from any schools in the Philippines or better yet graduates from schools abroad.
It is just unfortunate that graduates from bigger and better known Universities in the Philippines tend to discriminate graduates from a lesser known and smaller University. They tend to look at you as not equal to them in terms of knowledge and experience. However time and time again they have been proven wrong . With perseverance and hardwork, we had shown to them that in any field we can compete and excel in our chosen fields.
Always remember that our Alma Mater provided us the right ingredients to excel in our professions. It doesn't really matter if you are Graduate of UNEP or USANT, as long as you make your Alma Mater proud.

BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA....PLS.....
With 2010 National and local election fast approaching, it's not surprising that the number of candidates are adding up by the day. The latest one is Bro.Eddie Villanueva. I am sure that he is well qualified to run for presidency however I am not sure about his winnability. Even with his noble and admirable intention to make our country a better place for everyone, I don't think it will translate into votes.
I am hoping that he will give way and try to convince Among Ed Panlilio to merge with his political party. I believe Among Ed has the charisma (like Barack Obama)and the winnability factor. Like what happened in U.S., people are also longing for a change in Philippine politics. We need to get rid of traditional politicians whose only motives is to enrich themselves or entrench themselves in their positions.
If Bro. Eddie runs, it will divide the votes of reform-minded Filipinos and that will be a disaster. He can best help our country by helping a viable/winning candidate like Among ED. HOw about Panlilio-Padaca 2010, or Panlilio-Villanueva, or Panlilio-Velarde?....

PANLILIO-PADACA 2010
This tandem intrigues me. It might not be a bad idea since we all know that both of them are non-traditional politician that advocates change in our political system. I'm am so sick and tired of the TRAPOS in our government. They are so used to their old tricks- goons, guns and gold. In return for investing so much (mostly corrupted) money for their election, they re-coup their investment by taking our tax money through SOP's, handouts/bribes from Malacanang, pork-barrels...etc....
We all know the political history of Panlilio and Padaca. They have to battle political heavyweights like the Dy's, Lapid's, Pinedas. Both of them succeeded because people of Pampanga was sick and tired of old politics. I think the silent majority of the Filipino people are also sick and tired of the Trapos in the government. I think now is the right time that Filipinos old and young, unite and do our part to change the current political system in our country.
I believe both of them are qualified to be the leader of our country!!!...We need leaders who can eradicate CORRUPTION in our country. Our present and past President did a horrendous job in their fight agains graft and corruption in the government (as if there was any effort done..:))
MOst of them tolerated or worse was involved in corruption either directly or indirectly.
I am a bicolano and would love to vote for Chiz Escudero but if Panlilio-Padaca runs I might change my mind since Escudero for all we know is a protegee of Danding Cojuangco.
I am willing to part ways with my beloved Piso for this cause.

IS THERE ANY OTHER CAPABLE LEADER IN IRIGA CITY?
I am just wondering if there is any other capable leader in Iriga that is not surnamed ALFELOR..
I noticed kasi na in every sensitive positon in Iriga agko Alfelor. Agko sa Water District, Sa Casureco, sa Sanggunian, Sa SK....This coming election, former mayor Manny Alfelor running for Congressman and Congressman Nancing running for Governor. The problem I have with this situation is uda na check and balance. Bagana ana Iriga sadiri na sa uusad sanang pamilya. Although it is not their fault it us the voters who put them in their position
Agko pa man gayod kamo ising taga-iriga na pwedeng magin leader. I'm not saying that the Alfelors are not capable (although few of them are not like the Alfelors in the City Council)
I even support our current mayor, Mayor Gazmen (except for her husband). The only Issue I have with her is that , her husband owns a construction company that corners most of the government projects in Iriga. We all know that it is a conflict of interest and very much illegal.
However, Mayor Gazmen had shown to Iriguenos that she is very capable mayor.

what is happening to baao???????
la bagang muya kana baao...hehehe...everytime mag labos ako paiyan sa naga, puro baga retrato kana mayor ana naka-poste....everyone knows that all he did was to make-over the project...pipintan sana, project na niya. for all we know most of it are project of the former mayor....although dawa ki isay na proyekto, the money still came from the tax payers.....putting up the politicians name on any projects should be banned...but while it still probably legal maybe it is high time for mayor bongcayao to put up a project he can own and be proud of....medyo kaya hypocritical ana dating meaning, useless syang meyor,,,,hehehe....

SOS...SAVE THE PHILIPPINES FROM CORRUPT AND INEPT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS
The state of politics in our country is probably at its worst time. The government officials, both elected and appointed are heavily dominated by people that are either traditional politicians, close friends and relatives of the President and her family and/or greedy, corrupt officials.
This resulted in heavy excessess of the government. Numerous anomalous transactions entered by the government resulted in Senate hearings that went nowhere. Although it was very obvious that there was indeed impropriety if not blatant corruption in the transaction. Were they ever gonna be prosecuted?..Goodluck on that one. Who's gonna prosecute them?...The Ombudsman?...The ever hypocrite Merceditas Guttierez?....how many govenment corruption cases had she brought to court since she became the Ombudsman?..Despite being tagged as one of the most corrupt country in the whole world, did the government actually done something to catch a big fish?....they said they did...but who did they catch?....Let's see what department is the most corrupt....DPWH, Bureau of Customs, DECS, Congress, I think all the Department are corrupt...hehehe....Why can't our government catch all these crooked /corrupt officials?.....ooopppssss, i forgot the officials tasked to catch this crooks are either also crooks or a relative/friends of the President and her family.
Who will save us now?.....I think nobody, unless we Filipinos starts maturing and starts realizing not to elect officials that are bad eggs (crooks, trapos).......
The end.....
