I know this is a wishful thinking but with the current crop of candidates for Congressman in the 4th District of Camarines Sur, I can't help but to wish for the star. Let me introduce the 4 current candidates:
1) Manny Alfelor---- former Mayor of Iriga.....hasn't really accomplished anything during his tenure....except for the highly questionable projects (road concreting that breaks apart when it rains- supposedly cpnstructed by his own dummy construction company). Whatever happened to the Agranan ni Agang or the Gondola? I heard Iriguenos from abroad contributed to the project....what happened to their contribution?
2) Sal Fortuno-- current vice-Governor of Camarines and former Congressman. Same as ex- Mayor Alfelor, he has not accomplished much.
3) Jay Dimaiwat--- a neophyte in politics. I guess a successful manager of Nestle Phil. I read his blogs in Nabua forum, I guess he is a little bit hot/quick-tempered guy and a little onion skinned. Hopefully his intentions are for the improvement of quality of life of people in the 4th District of Camarines Sur.
4) Mariano "Anoy" Trinidad--- perennial candidate. Former Vice-Governor. He is a qualified candidate however he is one of those that you can call nuissance candidates. He adds up color and humor during the election period.
So who would you vote for Congressman in the 4th District? It is a gonna be a hard choice!!!
I don't see anyone of them to have the quality of a Perfect Congressman or Perfect Public servant. I guess you have to choose the lesser evil.....

NABUA........the most congested/disorganized municipality in Camarines Sur?
Everytime I passes by Nabua, I get irritated by the undue delay of my commute because of the traffic in its town proper. If you are going to Baao and you have to pass by the Diversion Road, expect to be delayed by few minutes because of the traffic caused by the throngs of people walking almost in the middle of the road. I can't blame those people because where else can they walk? The sides of the road are occupied by the countless trimobiles !!!. It's gonna be interesting once LCC gets built.....Right now I can say, maybe Nabua just overtaken Pili as the town that has the most unorganized/congested road in Camarines Sur.......

EMERALD GROTTO
Nag-kakapirang beses kada aldow, nag-lalabos ako sa atubangan kana Grotto, everytime, diri ko mapugolan ana sadiri ko na mag-hinayang ta nauda na su dating gayon ko kanatung City landmark. Dati kaya pag nag-istambay ika sadto City Park, mabayod mo su kagayunan ko Grotto from the first steps of the stairway up to the top... La bagang gayon na mabayad mo su Grotto with its criss-crossing stairway, very picturesque. But now, it's sad to say that our City landmark has to give way to what some people say "signs of Progress".
Para sa diri pa nakaka-isi, agko na pinag-tugrok na Convention Hall infront of the Grotto and if your passing by the only part that you can see from the highway is about 1/4 of the stairway (from the top) and the grotto itself. Sure one can argue that the grotto together with Hotel Ibalon and Emerald Shopping Complex (former names, I don't know their new names now), are a private property now owned by Atty. Ortega. According to some people, since it's a private property, Atty. Ortega can do whatever he want to the property. I do applaud Atty. Ortega for investing his precious money para mapagayon pa lalo ana Iriga and show that Iriga is now a progressive city. Kaya lang, I wish, he didn't built the convention hall infront of the Grotto. It's one if not the ONLY landmark of Iriga City. It is sad that the Grotto has to give way for the sake of Progress...........
