TYPHOON ONDOY....WHAT IT MEANS TO GILBERT TEODORO'S PRESIDENTIAL PLAN.........

The Philippines had a suffered probably the worst calamity ever. Hundreds of thousands of Filipinos are greatly affected by it, either by losing their homes and prized possessions or losing their loved ones. The actual number of fatalities probably will never be known, but it is estimated that about 500 people are dead.

There is never any doubt that the Filipinos will overcome this tragedy. We are known for being a hardworking and resilient people. The bayanihan spirit always persists. Watching tv footages about Filipinos helping others, makes me very proud being a Filipino.

We all know that Gilbert Teodoro is the Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Center, he is also a candidate of Lakas-Kampi for President in the forthcoming 2010 elections. The disaster brought by typhoon Ondoy is probably a litmus test for Teodoro's capability to lead the nation. This will be the preview on how he will manage the country if he wins. However, this early , he is failing miserably. It's been few days now after the tragedy but there is still a lot of people in need that are not getting any help from the government. That means to say that no matter what the gov't is saying, they have no concrete disaster planning program in place.

Without the private citizens help, there is no way that the filipinos that were affected by the typhoon will all get the badly needed help from the government.

To my fellow Filipinos, don't lose hope . We will overcome this tragedy with or without the gov't's help.
