TO HONGKONG CITIZENS : MOVE ON!!!!!

I know what happened during the hostage crisis was despicable. Our government failed miserably trying to resolve the situation. The people of the Philippines was with you in your moment of sorrow for the loss of life of your countrymen. We were also united in condemning the government for its inefficiency in handling the crisis. Everyone apologized from the President down to our ordinary citizens. We offered masses and vigils. What else do you need so your lives can move on?

I believe we had done more than enough to appease your country's feelings. Let's just wait for the result of the investigations done by your country and our country to come out. But for now please move on. Just like what we did when contaminated milk from your mother country (China) flooded our market and affected the health of thousands or millions of our kids. We did not asked for your country's apologies nor we disparage your government....We just moved on.

THE SAD STATE OF PHILIPPINE ELECTIONS

Although the poll automation was a welcome sight, there are still a lot of problems that needs to be addressed by the Comelec. It was never expected that 2010 election will be clean and free of controversies. In fact in the past week numerous (sore) losers in the past elections lined up to complain that either they were cheated or the elections was rigged. However, I know a lot of people will agree with me that this last election was better than the past elections.

Any election in the Philippines will never be clean and honest unless Us the voters, will become politically mature. We all know that probably 90-99.9% of all politicians were involved in some kind of vote buying. They were either offering cash or goods. So all those sorry LOSERS in the congress that are complaining about the elections, they can kiss my A**. If the voters will have the courage to say "NO" to this politicians and vote for who they think is the best candidates, even if the bribe had been offered, I think our country will be better . Or maybe so, they can keep the bribe money and vote for their own chosen candidates.

CEBU CITY.......WILL CEBUANO VOTERS GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME?

It is well known that Cebu gave Pres. Gloria Arroyo the biggest winning margin in the last Presidential election. The winning margin of over one million votes propelled PGMA to another six years in Malacanang. PGMA will be forever known as one of the most corrupt if not the most corrupt President of the Philippines even surpassing Marcos. It will take time before we will find out the extent of corruption that happened during Gloria Arroyo's presidential tenure.

This the reason why Mrs. Arroyo has no intention at all to leave politics. She wants to make sure that she will be protected by her allies once elected in the Congress. She has all the intention to become the Speaker of the House and maybe the Prime Minister once the Constitution is changed. By this she will be assured that nobody will have any chance of going after her and her abusive family.

One of her plan is to saturate the Congress with here allies and to do this she planned all along to bastardize the Party-list system. We have a lot of Party-list that are being funded discreetly by Malacanang and whose nominees are either relatives or Malacanang appointees. We know that COMELEC is a lame duck Department. They are a powerless/toothless branch of the government. They agree to whatever Malacanang wants.

What happened to our country can be attributed directly or indirectly to the more than one million votes (winning margin) that the Cebuano voters had given Mrs. Arroyo. They had given this government another six years of corruption and political excesses.

However, I am still optimistic that the Cebuanos will be a smarter voters this time. I know that they will vote for somebody that will guide our country to a better future.

BAAO.....BREWING POLITICAL WAR (OR CIRCUS) IN FACEBOOK

I was browsing Google Search this morning when I chanced upon a link about a Facebook account Titled " No to Lucy Buena 2010". When I clicked the linked I also found out that there is also an account titled "No to Mel Gaite 2010". I can't help but laugh after browsing on the comments in both sites. I guess the election in Baao is a hotly contested battle between Lucy Buena and the former mayor Mel Gaite. (with apologies to the current Mayor (Bongcayao)

I was very entertained with the discussions in those Facebook accounts that I lost track of the time, so I ended up getting late at work. The people that were involved in the friendly sometimes hostile discussion in that site were both passionate about their chosen candidates. It is very clear that all of them are very concerned about the future of their beloved town.

Being an Irigueno and a consumer of the Agricultural products of Baao (we own some ricefield in Baao), I can't help but say my little piece re: politics in Baao. I know I don't have any business meddling in Baao affairs being a non-Baaoeno but after reading and analyzing the comments in those sites, I decided to write my own opinion anyway.

According to Lucy Buena camp, Mel Gaite is a corrupt politician. It is easy to say and accuse somebody especially during election time. Politicians do these things to get sympathy and ultimate votes from voters. But the fact remains that there is no iota of evidence to back that accusations. We all know that Mayor Bongcayao is a political rival of Mayor Gaite and he hates Gaites guts . When he took over the Mayors office, he asked his people to investigate Mayor Gaite's projects for any anomalies. Did they found anything? You guess it right!!! None!!! The only thing that Mayor Bongcayao complained about is when Mayor Gaite took his Office table and furnishings. It was however proven that those furnitures and furnishings were purchased personally by the former Mayor (backed by receipts). We know that Lucy Buena is a close confidant of Mayor Bongcayao at that time, meaning she know that they don't have evidence at all to accuse Mel Gaite as a corrupt politician.

I've done some business with Mr. Gaite in the past. I had observed how their family worked hard everyday. They run their businesses personnally. While we are at home taking 2 days off every week, they are at work. Yes, they work 7 days a week/24 hours a day. That's probably the reason why they are very successful with their business. In my own opinion, The Gaites doesn't need to steal money from the government because what they earn from their business is more than enough for them to live lavishly.

According to one of the comments in the Facebook stated that Lucy Buena has not file a single resolution eversince she became a Kagawad. Wow!!! for 9 years she hasn't done her job as a Kagawad and now she wants to become a mayor?. Oh, my mistake acoording to one comment she did filed a resolution of commendation and Condolences. Is that accomplishment enough for her to be voted in the highest position in Baao? It's up to the People of Baao to decide.

Lucy Buena is a prototype of a Political butterfly. She started her political career with Gaite, then decided to switched to Bongcayao . As far as I know she and Bongcayao were still in good terms until after an invitation for her to run as Mayor was offered by L-ray Villafuerte thru Roger Peyra. After Gaite and Bongacayao took care of her she abandoned them in succession, to further her political ambition. That is political opportunism.

I do believe that new generation of leaders are needed to run our towns, cities, provinces and our country to have a better future. But in the case of Baao, they have to settle with the old guard and that is Mayor Mel Gaite. During his administration as Mayor, even Us non-Baaoenos , noticed the remarkable improvements in Baao. The transformation of Baao from a sleepy town to a prgressive town was pretty evident until after Mayor Bongcayao came in. Do we have to talk abt. Mayor Bongcayao?

AMERICAN IDOL-----THE WORST SEASON EVER!!!

The 2010 American Idol is officially the worst season ever!!! A few minutes ago, the 12 finalist had been named. The four contestants that were booted out are as follows Alex Lambert, Kately Epperly, Lilly Scott and Toddrick Hall. I think American voters were completely wrong in booting out 2 or 3 of this contestants .

EL SHADDAI, IGLESIA NI KRISTO, KINGDOM OF JESUS CHRISTS CHURCH........PHILIPPINE POLITICS....IS THERE REALLY A SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE?

In our constitution it is very clear that there should be a separation of church and the government. Meaning the government cannot interfere in the Church's affairs and vice-versa. However, during election period this very important part of our constitution had been repeatedly violated by both the government, politicians and the the different religious groups.

The politicians both in the opposition and the government actively pursue for the endorsements of the religious groups. Sometimes they look silly and stupid trying to fit in but they don't care as long as they can get the endorsement. Before it was only the Iglesia ni Kristo and El Shaddai then comes Brother Eddie's Jesus is Lord and the latest is Pastor Quiboloy's Kingdom of Jesus Christ's Church. Do you think this religous groups will not asks for something in return? Give me a break!!!...Last Presidential election, the Iglesia ni Kristo endorsed GMA, do you know how many members of Iglesia ni Kristo occupied juicy position in the last 5 years?....A lot.....The c-5 controversy involved Mike Velardes Properties making millions or maybe billions of pesos of real estate of profits, did any politician attempted to question or investigate Mike Velarde?...No way, unless they don't want to run for a public office again.

Hopefully, we can have a President that will have the courage to stand up and say enough is enough!!!...We have to follow with what our constitution say....There should be a separation of State and the Government. Religious groups should never be allowed to openly and collectively endorse any candidates or the government should waive the tax exemption status of any religious groups that will violate the constitution!!!....

This practice of seeking endorsements from religious groups should stop!!!...Democracy means freedom to choose a leader that WE want not what my Pastor or my church want!!! This practice can also lead to indirect corruption and bribery in the government, as elected leaders will turn their heads away when laws had been violated by church leaders, unless they don't intend to run for public office anymore.

KRIS AQUINO- A LIABILITY IN NOYNOY AQUINO'S CANDIDACY?

When Noynoy Aquino signified his intention to run for the highest position in the government, one of his major assets aside from being the only son of Ninoy and Cory, is also being a brother of Kris Aquino. We all know that Kris, dubbed as the "Queen of all Media" , has the capacity to influence the movie industry. Right away she was able to recruit the movie industry's biggest stars like Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Piolo Pascual to name a few....

But in the past weeks, it was becoming apparent that Kris was beginning to be a liability to Noynoy's presidential aspirations. There was the incident of domestic dispute between her and the family of her husbands CLOSE FRIEND ***wink***wink***...hehehe....which became a big media circus....I used to watch SNN everyday but I got turned off because I noticed that Kris was becoming mayabang....Even Kuya Germs (German Moreno), noticed the same thing (pls. read Kuya germs column in Philippine Star yesterday). Kris keeps talking about all the things she had done to help her brothers campaign. But for Christ's sake, she's helping her brother not some other people!!!....She doesn't have to devote a lot of time in her shows regarding her brothers campaign. That is why I support what PPCRV is saying that all Actors/Actresses that are involved in a polticians campaign should take a leave of absence fom their shows....

MANNY VILLAR DO NOT VOTE FOR PRESIDENT MOVEMENT...

TOP REASON WHY YOU SHOULDN'T VOTE FOR MANNY VILLAR FOR PRESIDENT:

1) He is guilty of benefitting whether directly or indirectly from the C-5 road controversy...

2) He is buying his way to the presidency. He is using his Billions to become President of the Philippines. I think what he is doing is anti-democratic....like Erap he is running a platform that is supposed to be pro-poor but in the real world he is exploiting the poor people of the Philippines by dangling his wealth as a bait so he can get the votes that he needs to become President.

3)He is a liar!!!... When you are willing to spend billions of your own money in a campaign and you tell that people that you don't intend to get it back when elected that is a bullshit!!!.... Noong naging Senate president ka you used your position to gain from a government project what more kung naging Presidente ka na!!!

A BICOLANO PRESIDENT ---- AN IMPOSSIBLE DREAM?

It bothers me that since the creation of the Republic of the Philippines, no Bicolano had came close to being the President. We had produce a lot of capable, intelligent and very qualified Presidentiables but they never seems to convince the whole country that they can be a good leader. Raul Roco, deemed as the Best President that the Country Never Had", didn't fare well on his 2nd try for Presidency. Now it's Chiz Escudero, one of the most popular Presidentiable but for some unknown reason decided to back out.

Every election we send 3 or 4 Bicolanos in the Senate. For all we know Senators are elected by voters nationwide, that means that Bicolanos has a strong voting base in our country. So why can't we have a Bicolano President?

Hopefully, on 2016 Presidential Election, Chiz Escudero will continue to gather support esp. from the youths and most importantly from his fellow Bicolanos, so we can finally have a Bicolano President.
